What do you consider to be your main area of expertise?
Not being a techie nerd means that I can talk to people as humans and translate
techie nerd speak into English (and back again - 001000100).
What project have you most enjoyed working on and why?
I don't enjoy working on projects - only leaving when the team is at full
strength so I get a good leaving present ;*)
Seriously, the 'second-phase'
at AMP was great - I was involved in a huge data change project to map employees
into different job codes and departments which involved writing complicated
SQL and working closely with the business functional consultants to get the
correct result under very tight time frames.
What is the most frustrating thing about the PeopleSoft product?
How long have you got..... my main gripe with it is that PeopleSoft never
seem to fully test patches and fixes - leaving a complete mess for me to
fix up every time a client has a bug. Also it is quite Americanised - but
I guess that's true of most IT products out there today, wouldn't y'all
agree?
What originally drew you to consulting or the computing field?
I get bored if I stay in the same office for more than about 6 months - the
ability to work with different people, at different places, solving different
problems really interested me.
Why did you join Congruent?
Congruent gave me the opportunity to go and work in Australia for 6 months
(I managed to stretch that out a bit!!) also I liked the ethos of the firm,
the relatively flat structure and the openness of the owners.
