Global Payroll – I’ve been working on the product for most of its life.
I have a very detailed knowledge of the product, both functionally and a technically
What project have you most enjoyed working on and why?
HSBC. This is because they put a huge amount of effort into examining
their business processes to decide how they want to use PeopleSoft.
What would you most like added to the PeopleSoft product?
There’s always room for improvement, I find customers are generally the
best judges of the enhancements that would suit them best – but they don’t
always want the same things.
What is the most frustrating thing about the PeopleSoft product?
All software products have their good and bad points. The immense depth of the
PeopleSoft product amazes me. I sometimes find this frustrating because it
provides a customer with so many choices, finding the most suitable solution
can be a challenge.
What originally drew you to consulting or the computing field?
I needed more of a challenge and more variety. I have been working in the Computing
field for 16 years. I had become typecast as a techy. I love working with
customers to help them to make the best use of a product to make their life easier.
What advice would you give to a new client starting with PeopleSoft?
Your project needs Jo Maye! Seriously though, the most effective
implementations seem to be the ones where the business
processes areclearly understood at the outset so that all the subsequent effort, such as
fit gap analysis and so on, can be.
Why did you join Congruent?
Congruent has a flexible attitude to the way employee’s work and are
rewarded, and this appealed to me.
Where do you want to be in 5 years time?
On top of a mountain somewhere with two black and white collie dogs.
